Healing & Reconcilliatin Convention

Jack and Betty (Posted Tuesday, 4 May 2010)

As an Aboriginal I have a love and deep compassion for my people, to see them raised up into leadership and taking Australia for Christ,as it was prophesied that the Aboriginal people will be in the forefront of a mighty Revival and will fulfill what was said that Australia will be known as the"Great South Land Of the Holy Spirit".My call started as a nine year old in Sunday School on an Aboriginal Community of Palm Island 40km.off Townsville,Queensland. I been in Ministry for 38 years now,and I am about to fulfill a prophecy that was made over my life at nine year old "that I will bring many of my people to the Lord Jesus Christ".This Convention is about "Reconciliation & Healing for All people and Our Land",it's about breaking down the strongholds and barriers of racial discrimination, prejudices, unforgiveness, hatred of Race, Colour and Creed, it's about bringing the Body of Christ in Unity and Love.

As white Australia has a Black history of the past atrocities that nearly wiped the Aboriginal Race to extinction. This Convention is held in the wake of our Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's Apology to our people on behalf of the Nation. This is a follow up of bringing both black and white people together as an "Act of Reconciliation & Healing" for All Australians. We have traditional Aboriginal who we have worked as Missionaries with for the past 17 years coming From Arnhem Land, the Aranda/Walpri tribal groups from the Northern Territory and the Pitjanjatjara Peoples from South Australia, we also have the Urban Aboriginal peoples from N.S.W. and Queensland and Tasmania,it will be the largest gathering of Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal Christian people from all States and Territory. And we appreciate your advertisement for our Convention. Blessing in Jesus Name, Pastors Jack & Betty Mills Desertland Aboriginal Ministries, Queensland Australia.

June 23rd- 27th Convention to be held in Barcaldine Qld. We have many Tribal Pastors & their teams coming from most parts of Australia. It will be a Landmark occasion & all are wecome. Talented Gospel Singer Robyn Green will be with us, Pastor Victor Minniecon & Cynthia, Pator Trevor Pryor & Family & some of the best Evangelists in the Country. Hope to see you there.
Contact Pastor Jack Mills 0429-707196 for more information.

Are there some folk out there who would like to get together to attend the music festival Splendour in the Grass 2010? (31/7/10 - 1/8/10 Woodfordia QLD inland from Caloundra/Caboolture). Exxy tickets though, $350 if not camping in the grounds, $450 if you are, which is suggested, as there won't be much in the way of alternative accommodation close by, plus booking fees on top. It's a killer line up too, you can check the website. I'd like to go because I just like to check out live music every now and then and it'd be just great to go with other brothers and sisters who are in the faith. email notspudsagain@yahoo.com.au

Searching for Accom adelaide

Hi all I am moving to Adelaide from Qld on 15 January. I do have temp accom in Modbury but would like to find a place to rent and share with one other female.

I am currently not working but will be studying via correspondence and looking for part time work.

Looking for somewhere with 3 brm so I have spare room when family comes to visit or if other person has anyone visiting. I am also a member of 3 different organisations that host travellers when visiting in your city so they can experience how other people live. It is also a great witnessing tool. Also eventually my Vision Impaired Mother will be relocating to Adelaide to and until she finds her own accommodation she will be staying with me.

The most I can afford for my share of rent is no more than $160 per week plus utilities.

Therefore my idea is to find one other person who is also needing a place and we look together and both sign the lease on a place we find and go halves in Bond and utility connections. With both names and signatures on the lease we both know we will have someone to share the rent for the full length of the lease.

Personally would prefer unit so we dont have the cost of mowing lawn and yard maintenance.

I do have an internet and phone connection I can transfer from Qld. I dont have any of my own furniture but will be able to buy some and contribute towards cost of a fridge and washing machine.

Words of Encouragement for Single Christian Women

jane (Posted Friday, 30 October 2009)

Sometimes being single sucks. I know it does - I've been single for most of my 22 years on earth. You get lonely, unsure of your future. Worried that one day you'll wake up and everyone around you will be married, and you'll be left by yourself.
But I think there's something that's possibly just as good as a relationship with a guy. Some days I think it's even better.
And that's friendship.
I love friendship. True friendship. I think it's really underrated. People take their friends for granted, seeing them as a given, natural thing in life, something you don't really have to work at or work towards. But just have a think about what your life would be like without your friends. Especially your Christian girlfriends. They are your family - your sisters. And I would give up any relationship with a guy for my sisters.
Being friends with someone, whether they're a guy or a girl, is so great. I was thinking about it the other day. Obviously, to be in a relationship with someone, to be dating or engaged or married, is special. God intended man and woman to be together when he created them.
But remember, a relationship is based on a friendship. For a relationship to work, I reckon friendship has to come first. It's almost the most important thing. To work as a couple, you need to be friends.
So friendship is like a relationship, but with the following perks! These are the perks of true friendship.
-You don't have to limit yourself to one friend. You can have hundreds.
-You can not see a friend for weeks and it's ok.
-Long-distance friendships almost always work.
-You can make friends with people and it won't make your other friends jealous.
-Friends can have completely different views about this or that, and it won't keep them apart.
-True friends are always there for you. Always.
-There is no pressure to impress or act in a way you normally wouldn't. You can relax and have fun. There are no butterflies in your stomach when you go to meet a friend.
-You don't have to stress about whether or not to call. You don't have to analyse text messages for hours.
There are no games when it comes to friendship. Real friendship. None at all. Jesus said that there is no marriage in heaven. Everyone will be friends - true friends, without selfishness, distrust, lies, jealousy or spite - brothers and sisters in Christ.
And I think that this sounds perfect.
God has everything under control. Every single Christian woman knows that, deep down. But sometimes she gets a little worried. No wonder, when some girls at church are getting engaged at 18. No wonder, when every chick flick tells us that in the end, the heroine always gets the guy. No wonder, when our society tells us that being a single woman is not something to be proud of.
God lovingly created you as a beautiful woman, in his image, precious to him, and worth saving, even to the point of his only son dying on the cross for you. Don't you think he'd have amazing plans in store for you, an individually crafted life to bring him glory and to give you every spiritual blessing? An amazing future, designed by God, does not have to include a guy. Marriage is not our ultimate goal.
So don't be discouraged when you find single life hard. Be encouraged that you're surrounded by a church full of loving Christian sisters and brothers, your family, there to support you when the going gets tough. And feel blessed that God has given us the gift of friendship, something that will never, ever be taken away from us. True friendship, brotherhood and sisterhood in Christ, will last forever.
